What is Kaneiko known for in dental handpieces?
Kaneiko focuses on precision dental handpieces designed for stable rotation, controlled cutting, effective water cooling and practical clinical handling.
The Kaneiko range includes high-speed dental handpieces, low-speed contra-angle and straight handpieces, electric speed-increasing handpieces, surgical handpieces, implant contra-angles, dental air motors and quick couplings.
Depending on the model, Kaneiko dental handpieces may include:
- Ceramic bearings for smooth and stable rotation
- Fibre-optic or LED illumination
- Single-point or multi-point water spray
- Push-button or turn-chuck bur retention
- Clean Head and Anti-Heat Systems
- Quick-coupling or integrated tubing connections
- Stainless steel, titanium alloy or coated handpiece bodies
- Model-specific head sizes for restorative, posterior or surgical access
Each handpiece is designed for a specific speed range, bur system, connection and clinical application.
Which dental burs are compatible with Kaneiko dental handpieces?
Dental bur compatibility depends on the Kaneiko handpiece model, chuck system, operating speed and clinical application.
- High-speed and speed-increasing handpieces generally use FG friction-grip burs with a standard Ø1.6 mm shank
- 1:1 contra-angle handpieces generally use RA latch-type burs, also called CA burs, with a Ø2.35 mm shank
- Straight and surgical straight handpieces use HP burs with a Ø2.35 mm shank
- 20:1 implant contra-angle handpieces accept compatible Ø2.35 mm implant drills, drivers and RA latch-type instruments
- Reciprocating IPR handpieces require compatible IPR strips or instruments designed for the handpiece mechanism
Bur shank diameter alone does not confirm compatibility. Always check the required bur length, retention design, maximum operating speed and intended procedure before use.
Are Kaneiko dental handpieces autoclavable?
Many Kaneiko dental handpieces are designed for steam sterilisation, but the permitted sterilisation temperature and processing method may vary by model.
Before sterilisation:
- Remove the bur or rotary instrument.
- Clean the handpiece exterior.
- Flush and inspect the water pathway.
- Lubricate the handpiece when required.
- Remove excess lubricant.
- Sterilise according to the model-specific instructions.
- Allow the handpiece to dry completely before storage.
Do not apply one universal sterilisation temperature to every Kaneiko handpiece, air motor or quick coupling. Always follow the operating and maintenance instructions supplied with the selected model.
Who can use Kaneiko dental handpieces?
Kaneiko dental handpieces are intended for use by qualified dental professionals, trained clinicians, dental technicians and authorised dental team members.
Users should understand:
- Correct bur and rotary-instrument selection
- Handpiece, motor and coupling compatibility
- Recommended speed and torque settings
- Water spray and surgical irrigation requirements
- Correct bur insertion and retention
- Cleaning, lubrication and maintenance procedures
- Sterilisation requirements
- Safe clinical and laboratory handling
Surgical and implant dental handpieces should only be operated by professionals trained in the relevant procedure, motor system and surgical protocol.
