1:5 Speed-Increasing Electric Contra-Angle Handpiece for FG Burs
Kaneiko 1:5 Speed-Increasing Electric Contra-Angle Handpiece for FG Burs
The Kaneiko 1:5 speed-increasing electric contra-angle handpiece is designed for crown preparation, cavity preparation and restorative finishing with compatible FG dental burs. Its 1:5 gear transmission multiplies the input speed from a compatible electric micromotor by five. When operated at the specified maximum micromotor input speed of 33,000 rpm, the nominal bur speed is approximately 165,000 rpm. Choose Model EB1L with a Black Nano Titanium body and three-point internal water spray for chairside and general use, or Model E1L-X with a stainless steel body and single-point external water spray for compatible motor and MOS use. Both versions feature fibre-optic light transmission, ceramic bearings, a push-button chuck, clean head system and anti-heat system.

Important Speed Limit
The 1:5 transmission multiplies the micromotor input speed by five. At the maximum input speed of 33,000 rpm, the nominal bur speed is approximately 165,000 rpm. Operating above the specified micromotor input speed may exceed the recommended operating limit of the contra-angle handpiece.

Model EB1L with Internal Water Spray
Model EB1L features a Black Nano Titanium body and three-point internal water spray. Water is delivered through the contra-angle handpiece and distributed around the FG bur from three points, supporting cooling, debris removal and visibility during tooth preparation. Designed for chairside and general use, its integrated water channel provides a clean clinical setup without requiring an external spray pipe.
Model E1L-X with External Water Spray
Model E1L-X features a stainless steel body and single-point external water spray. The external spray pipe directs cooling water toward the FG bur and preparation surface. This version is designed for compatible motor and MOS use where an external water delivery configuration is required.
1:5 Speed-Increasing Transmission
The 1:5 gear transmission multiplies the speed produced by the connected electric micromotor by five. For example, a micromotor input speed of 30,000 rpm produces a nominal bur speed of approximately 150,000 rpm. The micromotor input speed must not exceed 33,000 rpm, which produces a nominal maximum bur speed of approximately 165,000 rpm.
Internal and External Water Spray Options
Model EB1L uses a three-point internal water spray that distributes cooling water around the bur through channels inside the handpiece. Model E1L-X uses a single-point external spray pipe that directs water toward the bur and treatment surface. Select the model that matches the water delivery configuration of the intended electric micromotor system.
FG Bur Compatibility
Both Model EB1L and Model E1L-X accept FG friction-grip dental burs with a standard Ø 1.6 mm shank. This allows the handpieces to be used with compatible diamond and carbide FG burs for crown preparation, cavity preparation, restorative adjustment and finishing procedures.
Fibre-Optic Light Transmission
Fibre-optic light transmission carries illumination from a compatible electric micromotor toward the treatment area. Improved visibility supports accurate bur positioning, preparation margin control and restorative procedures in posterior or restricted areas.
Ceramic Bearing
The ceramic bearing supports smooth and stable rotation at increased operating speeds. This helps reduce vibration and supports controlled handling during crown preparation, cavity preparation and restorative finishing procedures.
Push-Button Chuck System
The push-button chuck system supports convenient FG bur insertion and removal without requiring a separate bur-changing tool. Always confirm that the bur is fully inserted and securely retained before operating the handpiece.
Clean Head and Anti-Heat Systems
The clean head system helps reduce the entry of treatment debris into the handpiece head, while the anti-heat system supports controlled temperature management during operation. Correct cleaning, lubrication and sterilisation should be performed according to the recommended maintenance instructions.
Electric Micromotor Compatibility
This 1:5 speed-increasing contra-angle handpiece is designed for use with a compatible electric micromotor. The selected micromotor should support the required connection, fibre-optic light transmission and water delivery configuration of Model EB1L or Model E1L-X. The micromotor speed setting must not exceed 33,000 rpm.
Bur Compatibility
- FG friction-grip dental burs
- Standard bur shank diameter: Ø 1.6 mm
- Use burs approved for the selected output speed
- Confirm that the bur is fully inserted and securely retained before operation
- Select the appropriate bur shape, grit and material for the intended procedure
